Network Design and Installation

A robust network is essential to a reliable and responsive smart home ecosystem. We will review your existing network and recommend replacement options if needed. The goal is to strategically place access points in manner that eliminates dead spots and strengthens device connectivity. At times it is essential to create a wired backbone of connected access points and devices to accomplish this goal. This requires access to attics or basements and cutting into walls to pull network cables to their desired location and create new points of connection.
When extending the network to outside areas, it will most likely be necessary to establish a conduit point that runs from the inside to the outside of your house. This requires creating a new path that runs from the inside to the outside of your home. These conduit paths will accommodate runs of low voltage cabling such as speaker wire, fiber optic and network cables.
Once completed, a well-designed indoor and outdoor home network creates endless opportunities for growing and managing your smart home.

Smart Home Integration

Seamlessly integrate all your smart devices for a connected and efficient home ecosystem. Control and monitor anything, anywhere.
In this process, we finish building out your vision of what you want to accomplish in your connected home. Existing technology components are evaluated, and a determination will be made if they are compatible with carrying over into the new design. At this point, a decision will need to be made on how you will connect and control the smart devices.
The good news is there are several proven options in the direct to consumer / off the shelf category. Some of the mainstream options are Amazon Home, Google Home and Apple Homekit. Control with these platforms can be accomplished with phones, tablets and dedicated controllers.

Beyond the direct-to-consumer product offerings are solutions from third party integrators. Adding a third party, custom control system has advantages, but also requires a higher level of investment. With these types of systems comes a deeper level of automation and control. Additionally, there is a far wider pool of manufacturer participation which enables control for a greater number of products.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide customers with the best solution that matches the scale and the budget of their project.

Audio and Video

Multi-room audio and video. Indoor and outdoor.
Adding connectivity and control to multi-room audio and video takes a considerable amount of thought and consideration. Not only do you have to consider how those devices will be powered and accessed, but you may also need to consider an entirely new ecosystem of products than what you have traditionally used.
A few wireless offerings that are currently on the market include Bluestream, Sonos, and various others that use Airplay technology. Beyond that are wired solutions that extend multi-room capabilities to just about every manufacturer of sound equipment.

When extending audio and video to the outdoors, challenges often arise. Additional infrastructure may be required to address problems created from long cable runs and desired location / placement of components. Not only do you have to select products that are outdoor rated, but you must also consider where those products will reside and choose accordingly. Also keep in mind that your municipality or neighborhood association may have restrictions on outdoor noise levels.

Off Grid Energy Solutions

Add access to remote locations with small, easy to manage solar systems. For whole-home back-up or grid-tied units, we can recommend one of our industry partners.
One of the most common applications is providing access to remote buildings or areas that do not have access to electricity. Complete off grid systems are continuing to become more and more affordable and can provide you with the ability to monitor the property, provide door access and monitor the health of the system. Depending on your location, permits may be required.

Smart Home Products

Solve problems and automate tasks with products designed to work within your connected home. In a crowded landscape of smart home products, it can be difficult to decide what will work best for your home. We can provide in-home demos and training on several product lines, simplifying the purchasing decision. For products purchased directly from us, we will provide ongoing support and assistance in addition to anything provided from the manufacturer.

New Construction or Remodeling Design Assistance

We help you visualize how you will interact with your new space and provide design assistance on creating the infrastructure and components needed to fulfill your goals.
The most advantageous and cost-effective time to accommodate wiring for smart homes is during the planning stages of remodeling or new construction. Running conduit before the foundation is poured or capitalizing on open walls during a renovation can yield tremendous benefits. Even if you haven’t made a final decision on the specific technology, we can work with you to identify the core backbone needed to support future implementations.
